These lovely drawings of facing angels were preparatory and likely final studies for the angels that appear at the top of the composition on either side of L'Immacolata Concezione. This altarpiece was painted by Gaetano in 1780 for the Church of Santa Maria Labarum Coeli in Bologna. The church itself was built in 1780 by Angelo Venturoli and is still functional, retaining the painting by Gaetano.
